Pont des Arts

It is thanks to Napoleon I that Paris saw - between 1802 and 1804 - a metal bridge, crossing the Seine River. The bridge would be closed to circulation in 1977, when the city inspector reported massive damage, notably due to WWII bombings. The Bridge, which serves today as a plein air studio for artists, is the replica of the original one, and was inaugurated by Jacques Chirac in 1984.
